Dear Fellow Travel Enthusiast,
A warm welcome to Coastal Discoveries. We’re a small business located in a small town on the coast of Maine that designs, manages and leads exceptional educational travel programs for adults. We love to travel, learn, meet new people and, along the way, laugh. If you enjoy the same, we invite you to come discover with us.
Take a look at our signature Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel) programs that focus on regional studies that explore local art, culture, history and architecture. These programs take place in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Troy, New York. Both towns are on the water; each has its own charms and attractions.Our Road Scholar Adventures Afloat cruises take place on small ships that offer family–style meals, casual dress, and historians who educate and enlighten throughout the entire voyage. Some of the ports of call we visit include New York City, West Point, Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, New Bedford, Block Island and Newport.
We also offer small–group educational travel experiences that are unique to Coastal Discoveries. These relaxed, friendly and educational travel experiences focus on the things that we like to do when we travel: meet new people, taste new foods, learn new skills (or improve existing ones), and have ample time to explore, relax and discover on our own.
